And I couldnt be happier. My friday the 13th Ak.
Got it from Classic Arms for $429. Of course, this was before I saw the aresenal sale, but htats ok, Im very happ with this purchase. New receiver, new bbl, new trigger group, two tapco mags. Not too shabby. These were going for over $500-600 at the gun show last weekend. http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...k/100_2638.jpg This ones just to stir the Sh** http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...nk/x39vX45.jpg |

Congrats! If it did not include the cleaning rod and sling you might check with www.cdnninvestments.com they have these for cheap usually (I have no affiliation with them just a happy customer).:ok:

Congrats!
If you don't mind me asking, what was the breakdown? FFL fee? Shipping? What was the price on the website vs. what you finally paid? I see several on there I might be interested in, but I want to know totals. Thanks, SilverJeep |

Congrats and thanks for the pics. Looks nice. I would recommend combloc steel mags or bulgarian waffle mags. Those tapco, promag, et al. magazines do not have metal reinforcement on the locking surfaces. I have tried them and they just aren't the same.

Nice pickup heimdhal :ok: good choice. Classic-arms people are great to deal with and will usually price match most other retailers online.. picked up my first saiga and yugo M70 from them.. seriously considering their polish tantal sporter. I've heard many good things and you cant beat the ammo prices atm. I just cant find how well the cheap Russian ammo goes through these..only thing stopping me from pulling the trigger

Sorry to post a half-informed, half-remembered critique. Im sure if you search the firearms sub forum or even PM Argent directly, you can find it. You're right though about that 5.45 being cheap, that was one of my main original attractions to it, but Im noticing mags will cost you a pretty penny! Love the gun and the caliber (Both 47 and 74) but defently look into that information about the last few batches of imported, rebarreled Tantals. If you find my information is incorrect, please correct me and Ill correct the clown that told me :moon: EDIT: Alright, you can ignore most that information above :P I foudn A thread about it from last year here but it seens it was just the rebarreled CIA tantals that were having caliber issues but other models were doing great. |
Re: New Ak Came Today
Excellent. I'm about to get the exact same thing from same place. Been watching the prices slowly creep down and seems like a good place to jump in. Waiting on one more of the wife's CC rewards checks to arrive. sssssh.
Can anybody tell this noob where to get a bayonet for this? It's stated in the ad that it has the lug for one, but he shooter's kit ($50 more) just has the extra mags, sling and a carry bag. |

Euro-trash, metal with the rib, are cheap and reliable. Chi-Com, metal no rib, are usually over priced but are good. Polish polymer slabsides are like butta and have gone way down in price since I got mine. Buy any Russian slabbie you can find for under $30. Blugie polymer, waffle pattern circle 10, have failed my long term load test 3/10 after only 2 years and have been retired from my packs. Nothing made in the USA has ever made it a year when fully loaded without at least a 4/10 failure rate. Euro-trash 40's are just as good as 30's, polymer 40's are in testing but have passed after one year. Chi-Com 75 and 100 round drums are too sweet, store them unwound, give them 6 full turns and rock and roll. Romanian Chi-Com knock-offs seen the same but I haven't full-auto tested them. Pass on the old Romanian 75's with the crank unless you can get one for $50 or so, (they're a PITA to load).
Unless you are going to perform the first drive-by bayoneting I see no reason for one, a good, sharp tanto on you side will serve you a thousand times better. For that matter, my original K-Bar sleeps between my mattresses and will shave the back of my hand if I go pull it out now. |

and besides, we all know the baynoet is the REAL killer on a gun. Hold a gun and the news and cops will say you're crazy, put a bayonet on there and you might as well be Hitler reincarnate. |
